New 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training
Lynda Light
Local master yoga instructor Lynda Light, owner and founder of Light and Love Yoga, recently announced the launch of a comprehensive, new 200-hour yoga teacher training program starting January 25 in Encinitas.
Training will involve designing yoga sequencing with modifications and proper adjustments, as well as a series of classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
“A unique part of our new program includes field trips to temples, beaches, monasteries and specialized workshops, as well as teachings on diet, nutrition, anatomy and physiology,” explains Light. “If you are interested in becoming a yoga teacher or simply want to understand and deepen your current practice, this training is for you. It’s an in-depth look at the philosophies and methods of yoga and will strengthen both students’ and teachers’ personal practice through asanas, pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, Kirtan, mantra, meditation and many other traditional yoga techniques.”
Light earned her Master’s Degree in Health Education from the University of Wisconsin, and was a full-time instructor in yoga and health for its Health Education department for 22 years. She also developed and implemented the Spirituality and Health course for the Master’s Degree in Integrative Health program at National University and launched the Yoga Teacher Training Program at Mira Costa College. In addition, Light opened her own yoga school and teaches classes at the Institute for Human Science in Encinitas.
Training location: Seaside Center, 1613 Lake St., Encinitas, CA 92024. For additional information, call 760-390-4505 or visit LightAndLoveYoga.com.
