A Company on a Mission
For Natural Beauty and the Environment
Diane Peterson and her daughter, Jennifer Dillon, founders of Earthlab Cosmetics, are on a mission to provide a healthy line of makeup, full of color and right for women of all skin tones and types. The mission began in 2001, when Peterson determined that she wanted to live a greener and more natural lifestyle. As she moved forward, she made changes in her diet, household cleaning products, and recycling practices, as well as the beauty products and makeup she wore.
In 2006, while researching a possible career change, Dillon became fascinated with natural mineral cosmetics. She asked Peterson if she was interested in investing in a new business venture. “I was and we began investigating together. We turned up some disturbing information about harsh chemicals used in most traditional and so-called natural mineral makeup cosmetics,” advises Diane.
After obtaining their data, the duo began working on a business plan. Dillon moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, where Earthlab Cosmetics, Inc. took root. Since then, mother and daughter have
branched out to manage two separate areas of the business. Dillon now lives in Peachland, British Columbia, where she produces Earthlab Cosmetics and sells them throughout Canada. Peterson lives in Southern California and sells Earthlab Cosmetics throughout the U.S. to health food stores and spas, as well as through the online web store.
“Jennifer and I had a vision to produce a truly natural mineral makeup, with no fillers, additives, or harmful preservatives, and we wanted our products to benefit the skin and produce a beautiful, flawless finish,” remarks Peterson.
Earthlab cosmetics can be used on a daily basis without concern about harmful chemicals that might affect the body in a negative way, and the products are not tested on animals.
