Cardiff Surf Classic and Rerip Green Fest
The Cardiff 101 Main Street organization has teamed with the nonprofit Rerip.org, to host the Cardiff Surf Classic and Rerip Green Fest, September 17 and 18, at Seaside Beach, in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. Activities include a surf contest, live music, local organic food, a kid’s zone and a Green Fest, comprised of eco-friendly businesses, government agencies and nonprofits. Local musicians, surfboard shapers, artists, vendors and environmentally minded organizations will be on hand for the event, which attracted approximately 13,000 people in 2010.
“Every year, we are amazed by how generous our sponsors and the community are with their time, energy and resources. It is inspiring to see people come out to recycle boards, enjoy the surf contest and contribute their ideas to the environmental movement,” says Rerip.org co-founder Megan Dambacher. “The event has an incredible, positive vibe.”
The festival is co-sponsored by the county of San Diego, the city of Encinitas, Stellar Solar, Clif Bar, Scripps Health, Seaside Market, Steele Realty, Toyota Escondido, RPM Mortgage and Morris Wealth Management.
