The 12th Annual Surf Dog Surf-A-Thon is being held September 10 at Dog Beach in Del Mar. Hosted by Helen Woodward Animal Center, this unique, family-friendly event attracts over 5,000 participants and spectators coming out to enjoy a day of surf, sun and man’s best friend hanging eight.

Spectators are welcome to hunker down on the beach and experience 80 surfing dogs compete for “Top Surf Dog.” There are also interactive vendor booths, food, doggie costume contests, a dog agility course, live music, opportunity drawings, crafts and activities for children, and summer fun.

The event is free to attend, but donations are encouraged and go directly to Helen Woodward Animal Center.
