Mar 30, 2011 06:29PM
The Wildlife Research Institute will present Preserve the Ramona Grasslands, their annual fundraiser, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 16, at Highland Valley Studios, in Ramona.
The full day of fun will include a nature and wildlife art fair featuring works from local artists and Ramona High School’s Art Society students; wine and beer tasting; and a catered paella lunch. A silent auction will feature gift certificates for restaurants, massages, hair salon services and more.
Gift baskets and the opportunity to sponsor and assist in banding young golden eagles and helping to research golden eagle nest sites in a helicopter survey will provide attendees with the chance to support the Institute’s grasslands preservation acquisitions and wildlife habitat protection programs. Mike Clark, a master falconer, will be on hand to share his expertise and introduce a special, trained golden eagle.
Cost: $25 person (includes paella lunch). Location: 18528 Highland Valley Rd., Ramona 92065. For tickets or more information, call 760-789-3992 or visit Wildlife-Research.org.
