Father’s Day Walk and Talk-a-Thon

Hundreds of families will gather at scenic Coronado Tidelands Park from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., June 18, for the Father’s Day Walk and Talk-a-Thon, presented by the San Diego Children’s Coalition. The free event celebrates dads in San Diego County and raises awareness about the importance of dads in the family and community.

Registration for the two-mile Walk-a-Thon begins at 8 a.m., followed by the opening ceremony and walk kick-off at 9 a.m. Participants are encouraged to collect donations from family, friends, co-workers and businesses to raise money for the event, and proceeds will be contributed to single fathers in need of assistance.

Featuring vendors, workshops and activities geared towards dads and their families, the Father’s Day Festival opens at 10 a.m. Activities include home improvement and family activity workshops, a hot dog eating contest, art drawing for all ages, a scavenger hunt and live music.

Location: 92118 Mullinix Dr., at Glorietta Blvd., Coronado. For more information or to register for the Walk-a-Thon, visit SanDiegoChildren.org or AmericanFestivals.us.
