Marie’s Words Releases Vocabulary Product
Marie Bradvica, a recent graduate of Carlsbad High School, created her own method to learn vocabulary words while studying for the SAT as a junior. After realizing that her difficulty retaining word meanings mirrored her struggle with remembering people’s names, Marie concluded that she needed some visual element to remember the long list of SAT vocabulary words. This realization led her to discover visual language.
Just as a logo is a visual representation of a company’s name, Marie’s Words employs colorful illustrations and mnemonics to create a “face” for each of the 550 hand-picked vocabulary words from the SAT and literature.
Using the new system, Marie improved her SAT score by 260 points and developed her language skills in and out of the classroom. With the help of her father, two brothers and many educational professionals and consultants, Marie’s Words is now available in the traditional flash card format at MariesWords.com and as Apple, Android and iPad apps.
Marie’s Words has been endorsed by educators for K-12 and is appropriate for any age, including college students looking to improve their lexicons.
