Saturday Pet Adoptions
The Foundation for the Care of Indigent Animals (FCIA) hosts a pet adoption from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., every Saturday at different pet store locations throughout San Diego.
A small nonprofit organization, the FCIA takes in adoptable dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. They usually weigh less than 20 pounds, and many have medical problems that can be reversed by the organization’s veterinarians. Adoption fees range from $150 to $250 and cover spay or neutering, vaccines, worming and a portion of needed medical expenses. Although not all pets are licensed, some of the dogs, which are held in foster homes while they wait to be adopted, have been microchipped.
