Free Flight’s Second Annual Fundraiser
Free Flight Exotic Bird Sanctuary will host Tropical Sunset, its second annual fundraiser, on October 22. The nonprofit organization’s cornerstone fundraising event features a night out in Del Mar with complimentary valet service, a Brazilian barbecue dinner, live Hawaiian band, silent auction items and drinks. The evening includes a drawing for a flat-screen television.
Free Flight is a living legacy of Dr. Robert Stonebreaker, with a mission to share and teach the passion of aviculture by providing a sanctuary that saves, nurtures and places birds into their ideal environment. The sanctuary is open to the public seven days a week (weather permitting), and visitors can walk around the park, handle exotic parrots, feed the koi fish in the summer and admire the East African crown crane that cruises around the grounds.
Cost: $30 general, $50 VIP (unlimited drinks) in advance, or $40 general, $60 VIP at the door. Location: 2132 Jimmy Durante Blvd. For more information, visit FreeFlightBirds.org or Facebook.com/FreeFlightBirds.
