FCIA Offers Weekly Pet Adoptions

Oct 24, 2011 08:15PM

The Foundation for the Care of Indigent Animals (FCIA) hosts an adoption event from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. every Saturday at various pet store locations in the San Diego area. Fall locations include PETCO, in Del Mar, on October 15; Unleashed, in San Diego, on October 22; and Pet Nutrition Center, in San Diego, on October 29.

A nonprofit organization, FCIA takes in small, adoptable dogs that would otherwise be euthanized. The dogs typically weigh 20 pounds or less and often have medical problems that can be reversed by a veterinarian. Adoption fees range from $150 to $250, which covers spaying or neutering, vaccines, worming and a portion of any necessary medical expenses.

Locations: PETCO, 2749 Via de la Valle, Del Mar; Unleashed, 10625 Scripps Poway Pkwy., San Diego; Pet Nutrition Center, 3840 Valley Centre Dr., San Diego. For more information, visit FCIA.PetFinder.com.
