Celebration of Second Chances

Oct 24, 2011 08:15PM

Rancho Coastal Humane Society (RCHS) will host its Celebration of Second Chances from 7 to 10 p.m. on November 5 at the Del Mar Country Club in Rancho Santa Fe. Proceeds from the event will support the Animal Safehouse Program, Humane Education and Pet adoption programs provided by RCHS.

Jack Tempchin, known for writing hits like “Peaceful, Easy Feelin” and “Already Gone” for The Eagles as well as “Slow Dancin’ (Swayin’ to the Music)” for Johnny Rivers, will perform at the event.

“It’s an evening for animal lovers to share a few ‘tails’ about their best friends,” says RCHS spokesman John Van Zante. “They’ll enjoy great food and music as they support the RCHS programs that are creating a brighter future.”

“Imagine that your life depends on being able to escape an abusive home but there is no place that will let you bring your pet. And you know that, if you leave, your pet will become the victim,” explains RCHS Presdient Jim Silveira of the Animal Safehouse Program (ASP). “ASP gives victims of domestic violence an option. It saves lives. Thanks to the generous donation of an anonymous donor, all donations made in conjunction with the Celebration will be matched up to $25,000!”

Cost: $175 for Life Preserver seating or $275 for Guardian Angel level. Seating is limited. Location: 6001 Clubhouse Dr., Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067. To make a donation or for additional information, visit RCHS at 389 Requeza St., Encinitas, CA 92024, call 760-753-6413 or visit SDPets.org.
