The 4th Annual San Diego Doggie Street Festival (DSF) is being held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 10 at Robb Field/Ocean Beach. The event, dedicated to increasing dog adoption, has placed nearly 400 shelter dogs with new families over the past three years. Cat rescue groups will be added this year and this San Diego homegrown event will expand into Los Angeles on June 24.
DSF provides a diverse range of information on topics concerning pet care, health, training and well-being. The Festival celebrates our pet companions and urges the public to act, advocate and work together to effect positive change and help end the tragedy that is pet homelessness.
This year’s Festival features animal advice, great food, cool pet products and services, along with family–friendly entertainment. Additionally, custom dog bowl holders produced by local artists will be on display and available for auction. Friendly dogs on leash are also welcome to attend.
The organizer of the event is filmmaker, Jude Artenstein, who is currently producing the new TV Series Pet Lounge which premieres May 19 on Cox Cable Channel 4 and Time Warner Cable Channel 4. Her San Diego-based company, Cinewest Productions, has garnered recognition for its internationally distributed films.
