Mayan Calendar Conference in New Mexico

"Wisdom from the Origins Conference: The Mayan Calendar and Other Prophecies on the Future of Humanity" is being held September 13-17 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The event brings together indigenous elders, social visionaries, ecologists, philosophers, healers and experts on the Mayan calendar. “While there's been a lot of hype about the ‘end’ of the Mayan long calendar in December 2012,” says Glenn Parry of the SEED Institute, the organization in charge of hosting the event, “many tribal elders and visionaries believe that we are moving toward a paradigm shift in human consciousness.”
Wisdom from the Origins offers an unprecedented opportunity to learn from the elders themselves and to participate in group dialogue, storytelling and ceremonies that promote balance, harmony and healing.
Featured speakers include Barbara Marx Hubbard, Marianne Williamson, Gregg Braden, James O’Dea, Kenny Ausubel, Nina Simons, Robert Sitler and Kenneth Johnson.
“The conference provides a great service by helping those who attend to clear, prepare and be of service to others,” says Parry.
Opening ceremonies take place at Chaco Culture National Historical Park. A special dinner will feature an art auction; an indigenous dance troupe will perform during the conference; and there will be numerous opportunities for conference participants to gather in breakout sessions with presenters.
