Did you know that 70 percent of the immune system resides in the lining of the gut?  That’s a lot of weight to uphold. “Go with your gut” originates and ends with us.

Going with your gut means trusting your feelings and instincts, rather than logic or analysis, when making a decision. Going with the gut is the ultimate form of self-trust. It means really being in tune with your body and mind and paying attention when we make not only right choices, but wrong choices too. It’s all about listening, learning, growing and thinking about all the ways we can best treat our minds and bodies.

The whole Natural Awakenings community thrives on helping one another learn about the methods and modalities we can use to improve our health and well-being. We aim to remove stigmas and open minds so you can find new ways to improve your life. We enjoy the idea of blending Eastern and Western approaches so they can work in synergy with one another. We have to make that merge to hedge against roadblocks like politics and greed. It’s kind of like our nation. Divided!  Let’s call it “Global Gut” to go with our global warming and other facts we choose to ignore until we are staring it in the face.

Trusting your gut is so important at this time. We are bombarded with split politics and health “facts.” We’re faced with choices to believe what’s true and what’s not true, what to do and what not to do. Trust your gut and find practitioners that you can trust as well. If we’re feeling unwell, the right practitioner, modality and your gut instinct can help you find the root cause of your ailments. I think it’s fair to say we can’t wait for health insurance to do it for us. We literally can and do die waiting. Unfortunately, insurance doesn’t pay for so many proven health alternatives. Preventive health measures and knowledge are all here waiting for you. You might have to reach in your pocket and you definitely have to reach down deep and find the nutrition that works for you. A healthy gut is a healthy you.

I want to say thank you for all the practitioners out there that have changed their career paths and or devoted their entire lives based on their passion. Their mission is to help others heal and yet many of us remain skeptics. Why? Educate yourself and thrive.

Trust your Gut…it’s always going to be there for you.
